NOORI was awarded the opportunity to fit blinds for the newly-developed Keilor East Leisure Centre, a $66 million capital works project developed by Moonee Valley council. Providing window furnishings for this state-of-the-art facility meant taking into account the various specialist activities that take place within the building. A swimming pool, gym, children’s areas, and office space are all housed under the one roof, and we were tasked with designing window furnishings that would be suitable throughout.

Our solutions had to be robust enough to withstand daily use in a busy centre. They also had to be fit for purpose to take on the elements, as well as mould resistant and suitable for the large wet areas of the pool, spa, and bathrooms. The blinds needed a motorized closing system with a strong construction to ensure the safety of the many community visitors.

We worked with Helioscreen to fit durable blinds made from an antimicrobial fabric that will help ensure their long life in the wet areas of the facility. Motorized opening/closing systems means no hanging chains that could be a danger for children.

The window furnishings look fantastic and are a great fit for their purpose, adding to the value of this community space.
